Darren G. Hawkins to present Phi Kappa Phi lecture Nov. 12

Darren G. Hawkins, chair of the Political Science Department at Brigham Young University, will deliver the Annual Phi Kappa Phi Distinguished Faculty Lecture, “Have I Done Any Good in the World? Accomplishing the Impossible in International Affairs,” Thursday, Nov. 12, at 11 a.m. in 3380 Wilkinson Student Center.

Hawkins specializes in international relations, human rights and international organizations. He recently published a book with the Cambridge University Press, and his scholarly articles appear in his field’s most respected journals.

Hawkins joined BYU’s faculty in 1998 after several years of teaching at the University of Wisconsin, Dartmouth College and Tulane University. In 2004 he was named as a BYU John A. Widtsoe Fellow.

He received his bachelor’s degree in Spanish and political science from the University of Utah, and both his master’s and doctoral degrees in political science from the University of Wisconsin.
