Directed by Jamey Hampton and Ashley Roland, BodyVox is a creative multidisciplinary dance company characterized by bold athleticism and fresh theatricality.

Based in Portland, Ore., BodyVox has received many awards, including the American Choreography Award for Outstanding Achievement in Short Film for “Modern Daydreams.”

The “Reverie” program of nine dances and two films begins with a solo choreographed and performed by Hampton to music by Paganini. In the evening’s feature dance, “Reverie,” green creatures in luminescent costumes dance in a whimsical light.

Roland and Hampton’s “Falling for Grace,” set to a film score by Danny Elfman, depicts a fantasy of unattainable love. “The Big Dip” features two dolphin-like dancers.

The performance will also feature two films written and directed by Mitchell Rose. The first film, “Deere John,” shows Hampton frolicking in an open field with a forklift construction vehicle. The second film features a center for sleep disorders where patients dance in their sleep.

The seven BodyVox performers are Zachary Carroll, Kristin Bacon, Jamey Hampton, Lane Hunter, Daniel Kirk, Ashley Roland and Eric Skinner.

For more information, contact Una Loughran, BodyVox general manager, at (503) 229-0627.
