The Earth Science Museum is displaying "Torvosaurus Tanneri," a large, carnivorous dinosaur. The museum also features two fully mounted skeletons of Camptosaurus and Allosaurus, a mural of the Utah-Colorado region in the Jurassic period, a 150-million-year-old dinosaur egg and a preparation lab window showing museum personnel preparing fossils. Visitors may touch real fossils at the fossil touch table and see a unique Diceratops skull. Admission is free. The Earth Science Museum is located at 1683 North Canyon Road in Provo. The museum is open Mondays from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Tuesdays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from noon to 4 p.m. For more information, call (801) 378-3680.
Through the generosity of Fred and Sue Morris of Salt Lake City, the world's most complete collection of waterfowl and pheasants will be exhibited as a part of the Monte L. Bean Life Science Museum's permanent collection. A new waterfowl exhibit will be mounted in the center atrium of the museum, replacing the "Cats of the World" exhibit. Other exhibits on display are "Ecosystem Dioramas," "Africa: A Diverse Continent" and "Synoptic Collections" of vertebrate animals. Gallery shows for the public featuring reptiles are conducted Mondays at 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 1:30 p.m. Children's story time is held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10 a.m. and noon in the children's discovery room. "Saturday Safari" is a discovery program at the museum tailored to children between ages 5 and 12. It focuses on teaching about animals, plants and the world around them. Classes are Saturday mornings from 9:30 a.m. to noon. Please call (801) 378-5051 for more information. The Museum of Peoples and Cultures, located at 700 N. 100 East in Provo, is currently showcasing "Custom Made: Artifacts as Cultural Expression." The exhibit explores the qualities that define cultures around the world. The exhibition leads visitors through North America, South America and into the isles of the Pacific. The museum also offers tours and teaching kit programs. The teaching kits are provided as supplementary resources for teaching anthropology in Utah. The museum also offers volunteer opportunities. BYU Conferences and Workshops offers a number of programs for adults, youth and children. The Wells Fargo campus bank has opened in the BYU Bookstore. It is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The BYU Bookstore is sponsoring special sales and events for December. From Dec. 1 through Dec. 13, patrons purchasing goods for $100 or more will receive a free 2003 Collectable Christmas Bear valued at $24.95. This bear can be kept or donated to either the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center Pediatrics Ward or the Children's Justice Center, both of which are local charities.
From Dec. 13 through Dec. 24, the bookstore is sponsoring a storewide 20 percent off Christmas sale. Certain items such as textbooks, specific computer items and Beehive Clothing are exempt. Check with the bookstore for details.
Textbook buyback will be Dec. 13 through Dec. 20.
The bookstore will be closed Dec. 25-27 and Dec. 31 for Christmas and New Year's. Call (801) 378-5637 for other holiday hours.
Complimentary tours of the BYU campus are available weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the BYU Visitors Center. On Dec. 24, tours will be available from 9 a.m. to noon. The Visitors Center will be closed Dec. 25 and 26, as well as Jan. 1 and 2, 2004. For more information, call (801) 422-4678.
The Harold B. Lee Library will have extended hours for the month of December to accommodate finals and will limit hours during the holiday break. The hours are as follows:
∑ Dec. 1-5, Dec. 8-12 and Dec. 15-18: 7 a.m. to 2 a.m. Limited services will be available after 10 p.m.
∑ Dec. 13: 7 a.m. to midnight.

Larry H. Peer, a professor of comparative literature at Brigham Young University, will speak at a campus devotional Tuesday, Dec. 2, at 11:05 a.m. in the Marriott Center. Carma Wadley, feature writer and former feature editor for the Deseret Morning News, will speak in 1080 Harold B. Lee Library at noon. Wadley will discuss possible careers in journalism and opportunities for students to freelance articles to the Deseret News. A question-and-answer session will follow. Jane Wise from the J. Reuben Clark Law School will speak at a "Spirit of the Law" presentation in the Rex E. Lee Reading Room in the J. Reuben Clark Law Building at 5 p.m.
Thursday, Dec. 4
The Editors' Network, BYU's student editing society, will host the first BYU Student Publications Fair from 3 to 6 p.m. in the Wilkinson Student Center Garden Court. The event is open to everyone. For more information, contact Sarah Jenkins at 356-6747.
Saturday, Dec. 6
Brigham Young University will host its annual President's Family Christmas Party from 9 a.m. to noon in the Wilkinson Student Center. Refreshments and entertainment will be provided for everyone. Pictures with Santa and Santa's mailbox will be in the garden court, Toyland games will be in the terrace, crafts for children will be available in the WSC Ballroom, and Cosmo will be available for pictures. Free photos will be available with Santa, or people can bring their own cameras for pictures with Santa and Cosmo.

The Special Collections Motion Picture Archives Film Series at Brigham Young University will show "The Bishop's Wife" starring Cary Grant, Loretta Young and David Niven in the Harold B. Lee Library auditorium. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the movie starts at 7 p.m. Admission is free and open to everyone 8 years old or older. Space is limited and early arrival is recommended. "The Bishop's Wife" is about an angel (Grant) who helps a churchman (Niven) raise money for a new cathedral while easing the loneliness of his wife (Young).

The 28th annual Adventssingen will be held at 6 p.m. in the Provo Tabernacle. BYU students, faculty and members of the community will present a concert of traditional Christmas music and readings from Austria, Germany and Switzerland. The event, sponsored by the Department of Germanic and Slavic Languages, is free and open to the public.
