BYU Men's and Women's Choruses plan joint concerts Nov. 10-11

Brigham Young University’s popular choral groups the Men’s Chorus and Women’s Chorus will perform during a joint concert Thursday and Friday, Nov. 10-11, at 7:30 p.m. in the Provo Tabernacle located at 50 S. University Avenue.

Tickets are available through the Fine Arts Ticket Office at (801) 422-4322 or at performances.byu.edu for $9 or $6 with BYU or student ID.

The Men’s Chorus, conducted by Rosalind Hall and assisted by graduate student Carl Pantle, will begin the program by performing “Sing Out My Soul” by Mark Hayes. The group will continue to delight the audience as they perform other selections from Biblical texts, Tudor tunes and folk songs from around the world.

Conducted by Jean Applonie and assisted by Carric Smolnik, the Women’s Chorus will perform a variety of religious numbers ranging from the songs from the Old Testament to sacred hymns. The group will also present settings of 19th-century poetry and dance favorites.

The concert will conclude with the combined choirs performing the hymn “High on the Mountain Top” by Ebenezer Beesley and arranged by Robert Cundick.
