BYU to host 32nd Annual Summer Institute of Applied Statistics June 20-22

Registration deadline is May 28

The 32nd Annual Summer Institute of Applied Statistics, sponsored by Brigham Young University's Department of Statistics, will take place Wednesday through Friday, June 20-22, at various locations on campus.

The deadline for early registration is May 28, after which registration prices will increase. Any registration completed after June 8 will also incur a $100 late fee. Registration information for BYU faculty and students and employees of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is available by calling Kathi Carter at (801) 422-4506, by e-mailing kathi_carter@byu.edu or by visiting statistics.byu.edu/summerinstitute.

This year's conference will be called "Functional Data Analysis" and will feature Randall Eubank, professor at Arizona State University, and Tailen Hsing, professor of statistics at Ohio State University.

The workshop will begin with the consideration of statistical and probabilistic frameworks that can be used for modeling data. Participants will then develop data analysis methods that provide natural extensions of classic tools for analyzing multivariate data and discuss computational techniques for applying certain methodology.
