BYU combined audition choirs, orchestras will present spring concert April 14-15

Brigham Young University’s combined audition choirs and Chamber and Philharmonic Orchestras will present a spring concert Friday and Saturday, April 14-15, at 7:30 p.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall.

Tickets are $9 or $6 with BYU or student ID. To purchase tickets, call the Fine Arts Ticket Office at (801) 422-4233 or visit performances.byu.edu.

The BYU Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Kory Katseanes, will perform “Winter and Spring” from “The Four Seasons in Buenos Aires” by Astor Piazzolla.

The program will feature three pieces by Bach. The BYU Singers, Concert Choir and Chamber Orchestra will perform Bach’s “Jauchzet frohlokket” from “Christmas Oratorio” conducted by Kory Katseanes, “Wir setzen uns” from “St. Matthew Passion” conducted by Rosalind Hall and “Preis und Dank” from “Easter Oratorio” conducted by Ronald Staheli.

The BYU Philharmonic Orchestra will conclude the concert with Symphony No. 2 in D Major by Jean Sibelius.

BYU’s space ace: Minor planet named in honor of Jani Radebaugh

The asteroid, previously known as “45690,” now bears the name “45690janiradebaugh” on official NASA/JPL websites.
