BYU Acoustics Research Group Celebrates 50 Years, Honors Harvey Fletcher Oct. 11

Founded by Harvey Fletcher

The Brigham Young University Acoustics Research Group, which was organized by this year’s Homecoming Honored Founder Harvey Fletcher, will host a 50th anniversary celebration in his honor Monday, Oct. 11, at 6 p.m. in C215 Eyring Science Center.

Housed within the Department of Physics and Astronomy, the organization — which is BYU’s oldest research group  — will be putting on an acoustics demo show featuring “audible illusions.” After the show, the group will offer tours of the anechoic and reverberation chambers in the ESC.

The event is free and open to the public.
