Stories from opera:
The first two Family Concert Series events will feature selections from “A Grand Night of Opera” and the BYU Jazz Ensemble.
Giacomo Puccini's contrasting operas, "Suor Angelica" (a tragedy) and "Gianni Schicchi," (a comedy) will be presented together by BYU's School of Music.
Directed by School of Music professor Lawrence Vincent, the opera is his last production after a 20-year career at BYU.
Directed by Darrell Babidge, vocal students from BYU’s School of Music will perform two one-act operas, Mozart’s “The Impresario” and Puccini’s “Suor Angelica,” Wednesday through Saturday, June 10-13, at 7:30 p.m. in the Madsen Recital Hall, Harris Fine Arts Center.
