My Job: I am a finance professor and I teach investments and banking courses. My research involves improving our understanding of the factors and forces that drive investment or security prices. For the past 3.5 years I have been working as the Associate Dean in the Marriott School of Management. My Associate Dean responsibilities are overseeing the faculty of the Marriott School and physical facilities.
Currently I’m working on... improving the measurement of private equity performance using secondary market transaction information.
I’m currently reading... The Undoing Project by Michael Lewis.
What makes teaching the greatest job in the world is... seeing the excitement in a student when they learn something new and it expands their view of themselves or how they see the world.
When I have 30 minutes of free time, you can find me... spending time with my family.
My go-to BYU Creamery ice cream flavor is... Earnestly Chocolate!
On Saturday mornings you’ll find me... working in our yard.
My go-to comfort food is... making a Caprese salad using Heirloom tomatoes that we grow in our garden and burrata cheese – heaven on a plate.
I’m most looking forward to... my oldest daughter Sarah’s return from her LDS mission to Columbia, South Carolina.
My fondest memory from my childhood was when... I went backpacking in Alaska with my father, where I grew up.
