W. Vincent Wilding, a professor of chemical engineering at Brigham Young University, will be the campus devotional speaker Tuesday, May 11, at 11:05 a.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall.

Wilding has been teaching at BYU since 1993. He graduated with a degree in chemical engineering from BYU in 1981 and went on to get a doctorate from Rice University in 1985. After graduating he worked at Wiltec Research Company, Inc. and eventually became the research director there.

He conducts research in environmental engineering, pollution prevention, waste minimization, thermodynamics and process designs. Through his research, he and his students created a method of extracting biodiesel fuel from coconuts for Tongan villages.
