BYU Museum of Art seeks paper proposals for November symposium

Organizers of Brigham Young University’s biennial Art, Belief, Meaning Symposium have issued a call for paper proposals to be considered for presentation at the symposium this November.

This year’s symposium will address the theme of the artist’s response to the challenge of representing Godliness from the perspective of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The symposium will be held Friday, Nov. 7, at the BYU Museum of Art Auditorium.

Proposals should be one-two pages long, double-spaced and include the following information:

• Author’s name

• Title of presentation

• Program description of the presentation, not to exceed 30 words

• Author’s title or designation—department if faculty member, major and class if student

• Contact information—street address, phone number and e-mail address

Please note that final presentations should be 20 minutes in duration.

Proposals must be postmarked by Tuesday, Sept. 30, to be eligible for consideration. Proposals should be mailed to the Symposium Convener, Herman du Toit, at the BYU Museum of Art, North Campus Drive, Provo, Utah, 84602. Proposals may also be submitted through e-mail as an attachment to herman_dutoit@byu.edu.
